Nice. My ‘08 M3 has 125k and it no longer my daily (past year). Shoot to get her out at least twice a week, but have been neglecting her a bit lately (bad weather, crazy schedule with kids). Need to fix that.
Fall backroadtrip coming up in 2 weeks!

I thought about getting an E39 M5 back in 2014, but I went with the E90 M3 because I knew I’d never really have another opportunity to buy a single owner low mileage E90. Still would like to own an E39 M5 some day.

Mine is all nice and clean and I don’t want to take it out when it’s nasty. I also don’t like driving it when I don’t have a decent amount of time for the oil to get nice and toasty.

Since I live on a short gravel road now, my car will pretty much never be pristine again, and I’m okay with that, but yeah, I’d rather not get it out when I know it’s going to get really gross.
None of my drives are short, so that’s no issue.
Finally got the garage situated where my truck’s in the main garage with my car in the shop. Days I take my car will pretty much be on mornings when it’s nice out, I’m not taking the kids to school, and I’m not running late. Thankfully, plenty of those days
, even in the winter, where I live.

I wasn’t in the market for an E39 M5 when I was lo oking this summer. This one fell on my lap. The price was almost too good to be true and the seller was literally across the street fro m my office. I’ve always admired them so I went for it.
Because of the price, I bought it cautiously, thinking that something major, rod bea rings/vanos as an example, would bite my wallet. I performed all the preventive maintenance and went over it pretty thoroughly in the past 4 months. Kno ck on wood so far, no leaks, no engine codes, everything is good so far. Waiting to rack enough miles to send an oil sample to B lackstone.
I f it comes back clean, I’ll correct the pai nt, refurb the wheels, perform so me LCI updates and retire it fro m daily duties so that she can hibernate in a warm cozy place next year. For now, I’m enjoying every second o fit!
